"Annual" Performance Appraisal

An always entertaining event that rolls around irregularly. My last was in 2009. I slipped below the radar for a couple of years, but now have one for next Thursday. Should be fun.
The dept head sidelined me into Siberia a few years ago when my old division was absorbed into his department. Long story. "Ethical differences." Anyhow, current job pays well (real well) and I have negligible contact with him and work with a good team (&, more importantly, away from him) so no complaints.

A colleague had hers recently, brilliant kid who gets on with everyone, works hard and knows her stuff (& knows what she doesn't know). Married 4 weeks ago. Opening question?
"So you're 30 and just got married. You need to have a baby soon, when are you going to get pregnant?"

Another wants to fall pregnant and thus far has been unsuccessful. Interview revolved around the late middle aged male Dept head offering advice as to how she could fall pregnant.

Looking forward to similarly cringeworthy comments from someone who only has the vaguest idea of what I do.

Wow, and I thought some of my past stuff was bad. Mine don't begin to aspire to be as bad as what you're describing.
