The Tiger Woods Poll
Tiger is doing pretty well today. I find myself rooting for him to return to his former glory. Others, well, don't seem to wish him so well. What about you?

I can't say I root for him anymore, but . . .
He will win the Masters next month! That's my prediction. |

Hope he comes back! He made golf watching exciting. I spent many hours following him in his haydays. I always was thrilled to whitness his raw talent. I am sad to see how his game fell apart after his personal life crashed. But, for golf, he is young.

I was glad to see his game fall apart after his personal life crashed.
He needed to eat some humble pie. |

Yeah, but he seems to be falling apart. Since he started so young, he's probably played as many years as some of the older greats did before they hit the senior tour.
I say he can make a good living still at the game, but the hey days are past. H might pop up with a surprise now and then. They all seem to have that 'day.' |

He's not that young. He'll be 37 this year, which isn't that young. And as milt points out, he got a lot of mileage on him.
Golfers 40 and over have won Majors before, but it's not that common. Of the 425 or so Majors played over the last 150 years, only 35 or so have been won by someone 40 or older. |

I think he bulked up both by working out and some supplementation. I believe that is why he keeps injuring himself. The musculature is much bigger but the attachment points and ligaments/tendons remain the same and not able to handle the increased load.
I think he will get some more majors. There has never been anyone so driven. He just needs to quit looking for a quick fix and stick with what is working for him.

Not to take away from Tiger he is/ was a definitely a great player. He just seems to come across bad tempered when things are going bad. It is easy to pick favorites and it is more fun to watch happy golfers and those that dont have a mean streak.
Just love to see the young guys winning their first championships. Speaking of golf the camera work and technology covering the PGA Tour is phenomenally good in the US. Nothing better for me to watch golf on tv with a Bud in my hand. Also great are the commentators. ![]() |

I enjoy watching him play. Still root for him when it's close. The tour has some great ball strikers so his comeback is going to be very difficult.
Got out for the first time this year last week. Felt great to knock the ball around for 9 holes. |

Like him or not as a person, he's still has done a lot for the game and will continue to do so if he's successful. His talent is undeniable and I think he will succeed again.

Doncha fkers get it...Tiger was hittin the ball since he was 3, so he got real good , everybody ouuedd and awwwed him dumping tons of money on him..till he thought he was invincible and thought he was Gawd hittin the ball. But like Icarus he flew too high, thinkin he was above it all and that he could fool around like a teenager without consequences. That day came when not only did Tigers wife smash the SUV window but CRACKED Tigers BELIEF in his own INVINCIBILITY...Now no matter what he tries he AIN"T GONA GET IT BACK. HE IS A MORTAL MAN ...so when Tiger hits that bottom of despair where he thinks he will NEVER WIN ANOTHER ONE...he will be able to act like a human being where he wins one here and there, but it will never be like it was...
Old Arnie Palmer said he has seen a lot of Tigers who once they lose the light in their eyes never can come back let alone be as great. That lightin their eyes is their confidence that they are invincible.

Tiger has nothing left to prove.
Good luck to him. I would love to see him win more, but he is not getting any younger. Arnie made a fair point. However, only ever been one Tiger.

Ya see the problem is that Tiger is saying to himself, "If only I can get back in the groove I can be invincible again." But the more you try to be perfect in your play so that you can get in that groove again the more you fk up. Whereas when you were invincible you had your bad days but because you were so good/inviuncible you just knew you could pull it out on the next hole. So U just didn't worry about being perfect.

And it has nothing to do with having to prove anything , at least to anyone but themselves...It is about being good and playing at your perceived perception of yourself...or former self as the case maybe.

Tiger Woods, didn't they replace him with Aston Kutcher?
![]() I don't much care how tiger does playing golf, but I do hope he gets his crap together and doesn't continue to be the major POS he was exposed as. Last edited by sammyg2; 03-24-2012 at 06:00 PM.. |
