Try animal urine (cat, fox etc) makes it seem like there is a predator there. We feed them peanuts on our deck. Our cats are indoor only (fischer cats in the area) so the love to sit and watch the squirrels eat. We get 4-8 of them at a time running on and off the deck.

I hope you are kidding & don't really think chicken wire would keep chipmunks out.
I have a chipmunk problem too. In my case, they dig tunnels which cause my brick sidewalk to collapse. My next-door-neighbor's cat helps somewhat, but not enough.

Run a hose from your exhaust into the holes. Solved our rodent problem for many months when we lived in CA. In WI we had a competition with the dog to see who could get the most. The dog usually won.

I've heard chewing gum is good for gophers, they can't digest it. I need to buy a pack or two of gum.

I iced my first groundhog of the season today. 22-250 @ 100 + yards. The first kill for the new Winchester model 70 featherweight too. It took only 4 shots to zero it, and then a hog first day out. I'm thinking this is the quit possibly the perfect gun.

Hugh, I tried the chewing gum thing. Put it down the hole. Used gloves to keep my scent off. The next morning I found the hole filled with dirt pushed up from below, and the piece of gum was on the top of the dirt. I bought 2 packs - Juicy Fruit (which didn't taste like it did years ago), and another flavor. I chewed them up myself. They did the same thing with the round poison pellets - backfilled the hole & the pellets were on top of the dirt.

Are they any worse than gophers?
You could call Carl for some pointers. ![]()

I ordered a container of that fox & bobcat urine powder. I'm anxious to see how it works with the gophers in the yard & mice in my pump house. Coincidentally we saw a bobcat in the back yard this morning about 8:30. First one we've seen in almost a year. It didn't pee anywhere & didn't stop to catch any mice or gophers. Too bad. It was a really beautiful, adult, and healthy looking cat.

If you have a gopher (which burrows in the ground), you can easily catch them with a gallon milk jug filled with water. When seeing one entering his hole, set the full jug upside down on the hole until empty. The gopher will end up in the jug when empty. Works every time, for me.
