Color adds a whole different prospective, it blurs the time frame element of black and white.

Thank you for the great pix. I just forwarded the link to my mother in law who worked in an assembly factory during the 4 years her husband served. These will bring back vivid memories that were obviously conflicted but worthwhile. Digital can't touch these. Again, thanks.

Kodachrome was COOL film. Such vibrant colors! Very sad that's ancient history now.

I like seeing color photographs from times when most photos were in black and white. It's so striking.

Was cool looking through these. Kept hoping to see photos from OKC. My great grandparents worked in one of the factories in okc.

Wow man, thanks for the link.

Four by five inch Kodachrome? And I thought it looked good in 35 mm.

I just love seeing color pictures from that era.

My grandfather took a lot of color 8mm video throughout the pacific theater. He was an engineer and they saw the scene of every land battle from Pearl Harbor to Okinawa right after it happened.

Thanks for posting!

Mama don't take my Kodachrome, Mama don't take my Kodachrome awa-a-a-ay!

Love it! I still shoot 4x5, but can't afford to do color work these days. The chemicals are SERIOUSLY expensive, especially if you're just a hobbyist. But man, that's some awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing!

DJM, you beat me to it!

As a former photographer (w/Nikons), this was--and is--a favorite song.

"They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's
a sunny day
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away..."

Thanks again for the post. Killer images!

If I ever get back into serious photography it will be in large format. Something magik about big film that digital just does not have
