I think these crashes of exotic cars are more common than u think. Whether they are city type accidents or exceeding the limitations of your car, I can think of two friends who each had damage between $8-12k. Hence the need to check a car out for accident damage before purchase. When u think of the few square inches of tire exposure to the pavement especially on a wet road, caution is needed.

Unlike that crashed Ferrari junk, a well set up 944 would have been able to swerve around the hedgehog, do a monkey roll, and drive away completely unscathed.

We used to have a pretty big gopher community on one end of the local track. At the end of the day it wasn't uncommon to see a couple of dozen roadkill on that end of the track. I also learned from track days that gopers are somewhat cannibalistic...
