Well, a bunch of guys in nice cars didn't just decide on a whim to cover up their plates after they had gotten on the road. This had to be sanctioned by the cops.

True, might have been "sanctioned" by "a trooper". No way in hell the NJSP would officially do something this wreckless and dangerous.

My experience with NJ, is its pretty darn corrupt. You might have to bribe an official to get a permit for your building, and if you complain, that official has bribed the judge, etc, and so on. Very frustrating. To me, NJ combines early NAZI Germany, with the addition of rampant corruption. Because its close to a nice area to work, people put up with it. Ignorance is bliss, a lot of people probably don't even know what is going on. Everynow and then, something will come up though.

Well, the Troopers involved have been suspended without pay. Apparently one of them is buddies with the NFL player involved, and was vetted by another cop.

Personally, I like the Troopers uniforms. I think they look classy, and neat. Very very, rarely will you ever see one that is out of shape or looks like a slob.
The majority of Troopers here that I've dealt with are pretty cool. Of course you have a few power, hungry ones tossed in, but i see that more with the local cops.

Looks like fun, wish I could have participated. This stuff goes on all the time, even on crowded LA freeways. 100mph? Big deal... you guys are a bunch of sticks-in-the-mud!

I have no problem with those speeds either, as long as it's done in a safe place. I've definitely done well over 100mph for long stretches on the NJ TPK and was a danger to no one but maybe myself. But to have this escorted by the cops without official sanction AND with covered up plates is kind of sketchy. How would you feel if you couldn't get a plate number off a car that hit you AND the cops couldn't care less about helping you because they were in on it?

I think an exotic designed for 200mph can handle 100mph without too much trouble. Its barely faster than hillbillies driving jacked up pickups on the freeway.

I think that's a bit of a stretch, assuming that would be the outcome.

I agree but I got the same "speed kills' speech when pulled over for 56 in a 45. Whats good for the goose...
