gun question.

.45 or 9mm?

I'm thinking of buying an Uzi and there is one in each calibre coming up in a gun auction. I'd always thought of them as being a 9mm gun. Is one a better gun than the other? The 9mm has Hebrew text on it, so that makes it a bit more "authentic" (funky).

half in hole or third of an inch hole? What restrictions do you face in your country?

Do you have a pistol that fires one or the either?

I'm a .45acp kinda guy. bigger hole, easier to see in the target. ( Paper doesn't blled out)

.45acp is good for 70 meters or 75 yards. 9mm travels a straighter arc to the target. and is CHEAPER to buy.

For fun i shoot bowling pins at 100 yards with a 1911 and .45acp. If your eyes are good you can see them run down range at mid range they're up 6-8" and by the time they're at target 2.5 seconds later they've dropped 18" below point of aim

If the Uzi has around a 10" barrel it would help the .45 acp but reality is the 9mm for longer range

Never shot an Uzi in .45, but dood, the 9mm was awesome! Very little recoil and easy to keep on target with a tight grouping.

.45 is about double the cost of 9mm... Just something to think about...

I'm a .45 guy. Small brag here... 3rd fastest service pistol shooter in Wellington. I've got a 9mm but find it harder to shoot well.

I'm wondering more about the Uzi in the particular calibre and if anyone knows which is better. I read in Wiki that the 9mm fires about 900 rounds per minute, whereas the .45 fires about 500 per minute.

Plus .45 might be rather a handful.

I reload so I don't really mind. I find with reloading it only cost about 30% more. But phew, I'd hate to buy factory ammo at the prices I've seen for .45

What is the purpose of owning this paticualr spoon.
1 Casual range use...go 9mm as it is cheaper
2. Home Defense...ya want knock down so 45 ACP

.45 is easier to reload.. brass should last longer too as it's not a high pressure round.

U mean #422 and #432

Why don't you take a gander at the MP40

#189 and #1249 as well as the Flasks around 1270 seem interesting...

Without digging comprehensivily through the bits and peices..the spoon section does not seem to have much depth..

Yup, 422 and 432.

I'll also have a look at that S&W 19-3 #599 and #456

But not as much stuff as his other autions.

An MP40 sold for quite big $ at the last auction if I remmember correctly. But it was nice.

The idea of the Uzi was just a fun thing to have. Ya, know driving around in the country in the 911 letting rip at road signs, sheep in the fields etc - joking guys.

I was in the market for an Uzi many years ago. A local shop had it in both flavors, 9mm and 45. This shop was really cool because they would let you test fire, at their range, anything you were interested in buying. I tried both the 9 am 45 and I bought the 9mm. It was easier to control, I got better groups and it was much cheaper to shoot. If I remember right the full auto cycle rate was higher on the 9mm. not that it really matters.
It would be great if you could fire each and make your choice like I did.

9mm is much cheaper to blast with ...

Doesn't matter how big it is if you can't hit anything with it. :p

.45 acp gives you a 30% larger diameter bullet to hit with! o vs O plus you can see them leaving to adjust fire!

Joeaksa 04-27-2012 08:37 AM

.45 is the only way for me. 9mm just pisses them off at times but a .45 will put someone down...

Hope you feel better with that comment... Was it really needed?

porsche4life 04-27-2012 12:15 PM

Guys, this is a range gun, not a carry gun. Does it really matter what size hole you make in the paper?

And joe, let me shoot you with my 9mm. I bet it wouldn't feel too good....
