Got any car doodles to post?

I found this in a stack of old drawings I did years ago. Any other doodlers out there?

No artistic talent here...but I have a friend who does/did car stuff. Here's a sample:

Yep...I was his primary USA "Gopher" when he was a yachtie living aboard his old wooden Ketch, mailing everything from Ford diesel parts to tool boxes to Log Cabin Syrup. 1st he was in the Med for quite some time, then the Caribbean...he sold the boat in Florida some years back, now is living in Germany with his wife Ise. No longer does Cyclops stuff...working on a "graphic novel"...Cindy & I visited him aboard his Ketch in Sept. of '80, cruised the southern Turkish coast...then I was a crew for part of his trip up the Caribbean Islands chain to sell the boat in Florida.

Guess I could say I've sailed 2 of the 7 seas with skipper Stan...

I'm envious. Trying to think of another R&T artist I really liked; had a distinct style...oh, yeah, Bill Motta.

'38 Morgan (always liked the flat grill as opposed to the bullnose).

Yer right...hijacked my own thread.

Here's a couple of others of mine from the same stack. I think they date back to the late '70s:

Those are not doodles. That is artwork worth framing. Nice drawings btw.. Here is a 'real' doodle done while talking on the phone a few weeks ago.

Another one done a long time ago I saved.

I know I have a bunch more but they are all doodles. I wish I could draw like you guys..

Some of these remind me of CarToons, the magazine. I'd like to stumble across some of those at a flea market really cheap for nostalgia's sake.

That second drawing is ahead of it's time if it's from the 70s.

Garage
I've got to post more on my website. The ones I put up are like 20 years old or more and are just place holders.

Yeah, Motta & Mott's work is available framed (and it's deservedly pricey ).

Post your doodles! Doodles are cool; they may not be "finished" but they reveal process, which can be more interesting than some finished pieces.

That's really what I was hoping to see be posted on this thread. The one's here of mine are a couple of my, few, "refined" doodles (really non-doodles I suppose).

I looked deeper through that old stack of drawings and I'll scan & post a bunch (genuine, really sketchy, doodles).

Thanks! They are in fact from the '70s; I found a few signed and dated, non-car drawings in the stack that I know I did at that same time. I hardly remember even sketching most of them. When I ran across that second one I thought to myself, Well, that's why I like the Atom so much - I wished I'd have penned it!

When I was a little kid I was crazy about Big Daddy Roth's stuff (remember Rat Fink? ) and wished I had that kind of talent.

I drew a '32 Ford 3 window coupe 3/4 view every day in grade school. Copied on off the desk from the student before me. I can't draw a crooked line today.
