Where The Wild Things Are
The first I ever read, and probably the first book I "owned" as a child was Maurice Sendak's "Where The Wild Things Are." It intrigued me because it seemed like a book for much older children who were brave with their knowledge of the world and unafraid of such things as monsters. I loved the story, still do.
Maurice Sendak died yesterday May 8, 2012. RIP - your book is as well loved by me today as it was some 45 years ago. angela

Loved his books, very fond memories of In the Night Kitchen. Colbert had a nice segment on last night.

Where The Wild Things Are is probably my all time favorite children's book.
The Seattle Nutcracker ballet may be the most renowned in the world......because of Sendak's sets. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I had both 'In the night kitchen' and 'Where the wild things are' when I was a kid. Loved both. RIP, Mr. Sendak.

Let the Royal Rumpus Begin!
Always loved that line. Still do. My favorite childhood book by leaps and bounds. Still don't exactly know what a Rumpus is but it sure sounds like fun! Larry |
