my grandson is 10 months old and is looking for table food already.

This could be taken to two extremes:
1). Kiddy/porn and front page display of sexual genitalia in national media, designed to spur on "musking" males of any age.
2). Natural demonstration of reproductive function, and a right of womanhood who bring following generations to fruition.

Either way, it's a bold and unusual move by Time Magazine, and a direct strike at the sexual reservations where American society differentiates from European.

(edit: yup I was initial shocked and disturbed as well).

According to an article I read on the bbc news site, the global avg time to breastfeed is 4 years

mikester 05-12-2012 05:49 PM

Plus, just because they go for solids doesn't mean they have to or want to stop.

For my kids and wife it was usually breast feeding in the morning before she got out of bed and then at bed time or nap time after about a year and a half or so.

sick as ass.
It's also another way for women-i.e mothers to become even more empowered and united with the idiot laws that allow them to be 'bonded' with 'their children and have the Fathers in a Divorce suffer more greatly with Children being older.

I tell you- women are crazy in this day and age.............and get away with it!

That mother should be seen by a psycologist at the least.in a mental institution.

It is a womans world today-all over the world.-

News magazines are really hurting with the advent of cable news and the internet. They do what they have to to sell magazines.

If you really feel laid back and study this a bit, it is absolutely hilarious.

Too bad Montey Python has passed.

Thanks for the deep but -less than outward subtlety. You fella's earned an A+ in my books.

I'd say that if a kid is unbuttoning mom's blouse to get at the boob, its time to wean.

Hawktel 05-14-2012 05:12 PM

Not sure why I, or anyone should care?

I'm fairly certain at this point we know that you can't legislate a person into a better parent.

So why try?

This seems less damaging than some of the more horrible examples of parenting we see out there.

I'm 42 and I still ask for.....TEEET.

Suck this. Anybody old enough to remember the Strontium 90 ordeal? Wasn't this also discovered from cow's grazing in fields with fallout? Mum, papa and little Jojo know booby's are num, num.

A study of hundreds of thousands of deciduous teeth, collected by Dr. Louise Reiss and her colleagues as part of the Baby Tooth Survey, found a large increase in 90Sr levels through the 1950s and early 1960s. The study's final results showed that children born in 1963 had levels of 90Sr in their deciduous teeth that was 50 times higher than that found in children born in 1950, before the advent of large-scale atomic testing. An article with the study's initial findings was circulated to U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1961, and helped convince him to sign the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty with the United Kingdom and Soviet Union, ending the above-ground nuclear weapons testing that placed the greatest amounts of nuclear fallout into the atmosphere.

the real news is that a large number of toxins, and suspected toxins are found in women's breast milk including BPA, fire retardants and Dioxins (which are known carcinogens)

-- that is in the US, and in some pretty well off women too

Esel Mann 05-18-2012 08:04 AM

If you are worried about toxins, why not treat it like wine tasting? Suck it in, swirl it around in your mouth a few times, spit it out, and repeat. It's the best of all worlds, all the fun but little risk of side effects.

The toxins thing just got me to thinking, lots passes through the breast milk. Well what about a line of supplements which provide subtle overtones to the breast milk. For example hint of bacon.

I remember years ago having a drink with a buddy at a New Orleans teety bar. So he's sitting there not even noticing this well built honey on the other side of the bar counter, so she gets funny and squezes her mam's good and a lactate power stream hits him in the eye! I almost fell over and just one of those things you never forget.. hilarious. I wonder if you could get an eye infection or STD from something like this? Laugh

I have a friend who was like that with her daughter. Kid is 16 now and won't have anything to do with her mom. It looks to me like mom just held on too long and when the kid decided to leave the nest she had to make a total and complete break. The mom made raising the kid her whole reason for living, so now she is an emotional wreck.
