Gun stocks at local auction - What are these? Dummy German training rifles?

This is from an auction that I attend fairly regularly. Swastikas got my attention, but have no idea what the rifle stocks are. They always have marginal photos with no descriptions. I've left with virtually every item I wanted to buy at this auction. It's lightly attended, mostly by retired folks so prices tend to be very reasonable on this sort of thing. If you're looking at a lawnmower or a ladder, then the bidding can be fierce!

Anyone have a clue as to what these are?

stocks

The rifle stocks look like ones for the German Mauser bolt rifles. Lots of them around, really not worth much......unless you happen to need one!

Whatever those are, they sure don't look like K98 Mauser stocks. K98 stocks have a really big, square, flat cutout above the trigger guard where the bolt knob lays (where these have the small, angled cutout). Mausers also run straight accross the top from forend to the rear receiver ring, with no cutout at the front receiver ring like these have. They typically did not have finger grooves on the forend, either. These also appear to be missing the slot for the sling that is typically right behind the pistol grip. About the only thing that looks "right" is the crossbolt at the recoil lug area.

C'mon... you were really looking at the box of old Playboy magazines, weren't you?

Those Swastikas look to be backwards, too...

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's probably not worth going to the auction this week. Most of their stuff comes from people who buy storage units, so you never know what's going to show up.

The 'swastika' items have me curious.......that is backwards from the nazi /Aryan usage, but in that configuration they hold significance in either Hinduism or Buddhism.....can't remember which....
