I've been meaning to take pictures of all the Westy's I see on my bicycle commute thru the neighborhood to work. I wouldn't be surprised if there's ten within 3 miles of me. Who knew there was gold in them thar westy's ?

removing the fuel tank to replace bad sending unit is: a purple 5 star mofo sass a frassin sheeet purple 5 star mofo mofo MOFO! you will need (3) four foot pry bars and 3 people. 2 people..............its real fun. trust me.............NOT! its is fitted so tight. getting back in is the exact MOFO repeat. and for our next trick kiddies....................we will attempt to FAB/INSTALL a complete A/C unit in a 4wd synchro TRANSPORTER that NEVER HAD A/C! this is a 3 door pick-up bed version. already talked to kuehl about it and hes gonna make us up some routes to go. totally different from westy pop up a/c. as a/c lines run drivers side top thru cabinets and then down to compressor. now ya know why i dont sleep well at night some nights.

Do your Al fuel rails have a small diaphragm at the ends? I noticed that the stock plastic ones do have that - I wonder if it is for some sort of pressure regulation. I kept my stock ones bud did shine them up with Meguairs... I also have not yet replaced the fuel pressure regulator. And, BTW - the idiot VW engineers ran the fuel lines right where they will shoot gas on the exhaust system when they fail. I agree with getting rid of all the plastic (including that coolant tower) -- I just have not done it all yet... | ||
