What previously was regarded as safe, is now considered unsafe?

Sorry about the long title.

What were we originally told was safe but now is considered unsafe?

Obvious ones are asbestos and smoking.

Hit me with as many as possible, got a meeting on Friday and need lots of examples.

Back in my day - sex. She was on the pill and the worst you could get was taken care of with some antibiotics. Today sex can kill you! I would have never been able to put the mileage on my unit as I did. And goin' in with "protection? It never satisfied me. Those were the days. I didn't get married until I was 36.

PCBs

They were originally thought to be a great way to prevent electrical transformer fires. The very high toxicity was not known at the time, as it was not studied.
