Edit: Well, American did Mikester said they would. Gave them a good price that actually beat priceline with the freedom to make changes as necessary to accommodate the situation. Gotta give some props to AA.

Yeah, if I remember correctly they treat it as a refundable fare and let you make changes as needed.

Glad it worked out. AA right now is my favorite airline with southwest a close second.

The hospice people were wrong. 2 weeks after pronouncing that the children better get to their mother's bedside, she continues to live. A bit better I might add. I'm sure all the attention and hand feeding made a difference.

Now my wife is headed home unsure. Well, she is sure of one thing. This will all play out again in a matter of weeks, if not days. And, I'm pretty sure American Airlines has done its part in whole.

We do owe them thanks for what turned out to be a call of wolf. In their eyes I'm sure they could rightly assume they've been played. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

You acted in good faith on information you thought was correct - nobody can predict perfectly how life will play out.

I can't speak for AA but I'm sure this isn't the only time things haven't worked out as they were expected too.
