This.

It's what I find so funny abou the grumpy old men that talk about Facebook with such disdain.

This place has really developed an "old" tone over the last 12-18 months.

The difference here is that you may remain anonymous. You do not have to post your age, real name and other status. You won't be found by your future boss etc.

What rubs me the wrong way too is that facebook has taken over part of the internet. A lot of people and companies do not have a webpage any more. They have a facebook page. So, unless you sign up, you can't partake. That's not the WWW, it is restricted and owned by a company. Scary stuff IMHO.

"One of my most important food shopping tips ever --those annoying stickers on fruits and veggies tell you A LOT! 4 numbers mean they were conventionally grown, 5 numbers starting with number 8 means they are genetically modified (GMO), and 5 numbers starting with 9 means they were organically grown (no pesticides or nasty GMOs)"

You could have just "Googled" that......:D

If you really care about Nutrition, there is a LOT of info out there, YOU just need to "Go Out" and look for it......

Yeah, so what's your point?

You saying I don't care enough about nutrition?

Maybe Wayne should shut down OT, I learn new things here all the time that I "could have just googled".

FB makes people "Internet Sedentary" and too many take it as the Holy Grail...
The last Fiasco was that Stupid KONY video.....most people did not even know where Uganda was....and without any research of their own they THEN re-posted the Video so it could spread like Wildfire. Somehow it makes them "feel good" about themselves, like they did something good for Humanity......all in the comfort of their Computer chair. Some, actually a lot, donated money "for the cause"......

If you just learned about the Produce stickers on FB......then YES that tells me you are really not into eating healthy food......or care too much for that matter.....

Did you re-post that on your FB page too?

No, but I did register the domain and started an entire blog about it. It's got research and charts and even has twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one........

Same concept, just different execution.

OR back in the day when everyone 'cruised' the local Mcdonalds and hung out - all the same things - Mcdonalds parking lot was the 'place' and the vehicles were actually vehicles!
