Bentleys are glowing here for Harry, Cliff. Keep us posted....

i still think it isnt KC. he eats and harry is not running a fever.

i should have been a vet. looks like a pretty rewarding career. plus it would be alot cheaper for me..! :D

He has a collapse trachea. Not much we can do except make him lose weight and put him on meds. He is elderly to try anything more dramatic.

The X-ray was stunning.

Man. He is stoned!

Is that good news or bad?

My sister's dog Fifi (I know, I know...the dog literally picked her own name), had something similar after a bike riding accident. She made it through quite well and lived a very long life. We had to be very careful with her. She also had an injured disc in her backbone but pulled through.

I took my dog Alvin to a new vet on Friday for ear problems. The guy was a total drama queen quackjob. Holy crap, I thought he watched too many episodes of "ER". Jeezus....I was happy to pay the $140 for a little eyedropper of magic fluid and get the hell out of there.

vet was honest when i asked her if she ever put a dog down for this. she said, this rarely kills them. but quality of life will be diminished..he cant get excited. "excited" is his mantra. the dog is full throttle all the time for an old animal.

she did say this was the worst case she has seen and we can make that decision later after we see how he reacts to the anti inflammatory meds and steroids. i made a follow up appointment for two weeks.

apparently, he can get excited, throat closes..and he passes out. passing out will calm him and his throat opens. wonderful.

thanks guys. my wife is bummed. i am a tip-toeing expert right now.

oh man I'm sorry. I don't know if it would help but maybe look into acupuncture. I've mentioned it a few times on this forum that it did help a terrier I had.
Good luck for sure

I am a veterinarian, and I think I should have been a Porsche mechanic.

I took Bucks advice on the accupunture, and I can honestly say it helpled with my Toby when he was sick last year.

I used melatonin to calm my bud, a natural alt to the narcotics and a lot less expensive.
