I've got this great little house for sale, but for whatever reason the listing has gone "stale", and we haven't had a showing for a few weeks. I met with the owners, and they asked me to try something unconventional to generate interest.

Add "THAT HOUSE SOLD LAST WEEK" to your sign. Or that it's in the next block over.

Many houses look dark inside. In addition to Zeke's suggestions, the trees and bushes need cutting. It would make the place look more trim and look less gloomy. Don't the Real Estate agents make suggestions like this to sellers to get the place sold?
That would be one of the first questions I would put to my agent if I was selling my house. What do I have to do to this house to sell it?:)

What if I want something certifiably haunted?
Something like that, I'd take a real interest in.

When we bought our house a few decades ago neighbors told us we bought a haunted house. Both of my kids and the wife swear they have seen something over the years. One of my sons ex-girlfriends refused to return to my house after seeing something.
I wonder if I should attach a "haunted" sign to the for sale sign now.

The other creepy crawlies were no fun either. :D

Great idea!

Milt has a point, but I think just leveling the walkway, painting the front and garage doors in a brighter color and trimming back that bush at the walk/sidewalk junction would make a great difference in presentation.

The trees should have a crown raising to open up the front garden.

That's what I was thinking, and then I noticed that this is a slightly old thread, so it may be immaterial at this point. Curb appeal is everything.

Definitely needs some sprucing up. Just cutting back the shrubs and trees would be a cheap improvement.

If a place isn't selling, put up a sign that says "JUST SOLD" then everyone will be saying "darn, I wanted that place, I really had my heart set on it." Then say "Well it's your lucky day - it's yours."

Yup it’s still making the rounds, I see it a few times a year still. Would love to know how many million views that little joke has gotten.

Woulda been nice if Jake got royalties.

My cousin is realtor in Richmond Va. and posted it last year. I think she thought I was lying when I said I knew of the guy that was selling the house.

Well, did it sell? Or is it really haunted now?
