They speak the truth. I have been known to drive my BMW E21 like a maniac on certain roads and it only had about 100 hp when it left the factory 29 years ago. And the suspension is just the very soft stock setup. Still is a hoot, though. A lot of that is from the manual gearbox, though. And unassisted steering.
And the 911? Forgetabaoutit. It is a case of seeing the speed limit is 45 on that twisty canyon road, then doing that everywhere, including the 15mph corners. :D Cars like that beg to be driven fast. |
Have they ever spoken of an air cooled Porsche?
|
Dunno. I heard them do a great one on a 944 in Radium Springs NM which was driving itself uphill, and against the handbrake -- almost went off a cliff. Turned out to be an intermittent wiring issue that was shorting the starter and engaging it when they were not looking.

I heard a 914 call once. They got it right.

Sorry to see them go but I hope they don't drag it out with years of compilations. They're going to try thought. They are funny. My Dad was a devoted fan and knew nothing about cars. They had his sense of humor. Genuine belly laugh kind of stuff. Not for everyone but one thing that always struck me about these guys. You could tell they enjoyed life and were doing what they loved.

They told her that her heater core was leaking. No joke. |
As I understand it, they have by far the most popular show on Public Radio, and generate the most revenue for them.
I used to listen to them all the time 30 years ago, and I still listen when I happen to catch them. |
