I don't get to listen all that often,, but I do enjoy it when I do .. Can't imagine they won't get a couple of replacements ala.. This Old House

Flieger 06-08-2012 10:01 AM

Darn. No more Click & Clack the Tappet Brothers. :(

azasadny 06-08-2012 10:03 AM

Those two guys can always make me laugh. I'll miss them!

"In your line of work, do you need all ten fingers to do your job?"

Bummed:(

vash 06-08-2012 10:15 AM

think adam corolla could do the job? with a real mechanic as a sidekick?

pete3799 06-08-2012 10:21 AM

I used to listen ever Saturday morning, it was part of my weekend ritual... lately I got to the point where I could take it or leave it. I really did like the puzzler, even got a few of them, but the gags and jokes just started to sound really corny. I guess I'm getting curmudgeonly.

Adam Carolla has a podcast called CarCast; not answering car questions, just talking about cars that he likes. Pretty funny, and interesting, too, but he has a pretty dirty mouth, that's probably not quite ready for NPR...

LeeH 06-08-2012 11:18 AM

Bummer. I've listened to them for years.

oilcan 06-08-2012 11:21 AM

There are no replacements for Click & Clack. Who could be so corny yet so addictive on Sat mornings while getting from here to there.

URY914 06-08-2012 11:25 AM

I sit in the garage and listen to them every Sat or at least try to.

Sarc 06-08-2012 11:32 AM

Thank goodness.
Without question, the most unfunny, annoying radio show ever broadcast.

MBAtarga 06-08-2012 11:59 AM

I've been downloading their podcast for several years. I guess I'll have to download from their "classics" - they mean "old!"

Thanks. I was beginning to think I was the only one. I'd rather listen to Fran Drescher and Gilbert Godfried. I've never heard anyone laugh so annoyingly, so much.

I can't listen to any talk radio, bit if I did, Click and Clack would have been high on my list.

I credit Howard Stern for my dislike of talk radio. In fact, I used to judge people by whether they listened to Stern or not. I just couldn't see how someone could fit into my life if they liked HS.

Are Mark and Brian still on the air? Man, I got tired of them in the 80's.

+1. If I want to have other people tell me what I should be thinking, I'll head next door.

It's the end of an era. I really like the guys, but I can let them go - have to really. I hate the idea of someone even trying to fill their shoes. They are unique. Everything ends. Let them go.

Of course there are some (?plenty of?) talk radio programs that try to sell some load of BS and they can generally be spotted easily by the "never in doubt" tone of the host. Many others are very much offered as education, not some line of affirmation tripe. I like radio programming as it will take the time to look an issue from several points of view and allow you to draw a conclusion of your own or lead you to a conclusion that you can take or leave. That and you can podcast most of those shows and listen while doing something else too.

They are still funny...the best thing on NPR.

Tim Hancock 06-09-2012 07:06 AM

I always got a kick out of how stupid the average caller was in regard to their cars. I thought it was funny hearing these guys try to explain something in simple enough terms so that their caller might be able to grasp the concept.
