Naked Bike Rides?

Browsing through the schedule for Pedalpalooza, the three week bicycle fest here in Portland. Noticed no less than four naked bike rides, including a nighttime one that apparently drew 10,000 riders in 2011. WNBR Portland 2012.

Wow. For some reason (tiredness, overwork) I'm actually thinking about going on that one. Though I might wear something. Been working so much lately, I kind of feel the need to do something different.

Anyone done such? Would you feel too weird? I guess there are no naked Porsche driving events.

You have to have pants on to ride a bike.

In Seattle, the Fremont Free Fest or whatever it is called (happens on Summer Solstice), has naked bicyclists.

The best part? The cops get all excited about it. There will be a few naked folks - yes - some are hot. Good fun. I wouldn't do it. Sounds a uncomfortable.

I'd be afraid that I'd get something caught between the chain and sprocket.

I wouldn't have that problem, as mine isn't nearly that long. In my defense, its narrowness is something to behold.

There are a couple of bike races with naked criteriums. Usually mountain bike events. I haven't seen one yet, but they are a GREAT hit with spectators!

Mountain Bike Resources Online | Mount Snow | Naked Criterium

Come on guys, life is short! If this sounds like fun to you, well then go do it! It's not like you're clubbing baby seals or anything it's just a bike ride!

Well, the big naked ride is at night . . . which seems less daunting than a daytime ride.

man..with the design and placement of a bike seat. i think you need pants!! if only to protect the seat from your "chocolate starfish". it needs protecting!!

my seat has texture..i would hate to rub my nether region..no, not rub..GRIND my nether regions into the stitching. mcquiers leather cleaner isnt getting that out. no way.

how big of a bandaide can you get?

Yes, and if the third wipe with clean paper shows a brown stripe. take an area-specific shower.
