cool shirt/ ice chest

I'm sitting in my hospital bed (just got a total knee replacement) and I have one of those ice packs that circulate ice water to my knee. Since I'm taking it home with me and will have no use for it after I'm healthy.. I'm thinking,, is it compatible with a cool shirt ? Anyone know ? either way I'm either going to get a shirt of use the wrap as a shirt insert.. its FREE!!

Sounds like they've got you on some good pain medications.

Remember - if you don't hate your physical therapist, either they aren't doing their job or you aren't following directions!

Don't see why you couldn't change the fittings on the chest or the shirt.... Of course that medical chest is 120v, not 12v....

Also it won't get a nice seal and will slosh water.

I had one of those for a shoulder surgery. Pretty cool gadgets.
Good luck with your rehab Todd. My brother didn't and built up massive quantities of scar tissue & a 2nd surgery to remove what they could. He still limps bad.

I got one when I had hip surgery. 4 months later it was wired to a 12v switch in our 24hours of lemons car. We simply put the cooling pad on the back of the race seat. worked like a charm...

Looks like they added some sparkles. Nice touch.

Tell all your future girlfriends about your dueling scar.

Wanna see grown men cry? Go to a sports medicine physical therapy torture chamber (treatment facility). Work hard and follow their instructions. Professional athletes shoot for a return at approximately one year after their ACL surgery, and they work HARD to achieve that goal.

Heal up quick. You could wrap the cool pad around your beer can. Listen to your FT person.

Yes, they work well in the car. Pick up a 120->12 converter and a cool shirt at any race supply shop.

Had one in my 930 for years and wouldn't drive without it, especially with a firesuit on.

It's not very robust...it only lasted me two DEs. But that was like 10 years ago when I did my knee.

That nutjob nurse looks like she wants to do ya.....

These broken body parts picture posts are killing me. I go to the fathers day food thread and get to see art's roasted leg I purposely avoided looking at in his thread. Yikes!

Good luck with the knee. Listen to the physical therapist and follow instructions. By the way, good idea for the cold water pump! I was thinking of mounting an old expansion core in front of a small floor fan to make a low cost a/c unit!

My wife got her right knee done last Tuesday. At home now with Nurse Fred taking care of the impatient, patient! Don't know who needs the drugs more, her or me! She starts PT on Monday. I just hope that I have patience enough for the both of us.

Good luck on the knee surgery and post-op healing and therapy. My FIL just went through it about 7 weeks ago and his good/ bad days alternate and he's making steady progress. The 4 point cane really helps him on the stairs and the PT is painful but effective. Take your pain med before your PT sessions...
