Turns out the new pup likes his vegetables. When the tomatoes get ripe, he eats them.

Both these guys are rescue pups. Big boy was so malnourished when we got him two years ago, vet said he might die. He is a beauty now. Sweetest temperament I have ever seen. I seriously can't believe how lucky I have been with dogs

Incredible how patient and gentle that big brown dog is with the pup. They thought if the looked cute they would get some pastrami, did not work.

"You thought you were getting a pug/beagle mix but I've got several different faces."

"Here I am a stumpy Labrador retriever. The fastest chaser at the dog park when it comes down to it. I'm a stocky 50lb bullet. Throw a tennis ball twenty feet into the air and I catch it 10/10 times. 20/20 if you want to double up. Use the ChuckIt and I catch it on the first bounce 100 yards away. I like ball and I will play ball 24/7 if allowed. Training for major leagues. Reporting for duty."

"Here I'm known as Mr. Tongue the pit mix. But my spine hair also can stand up better than a ridgeback's. When other big dawgs get too near me I get a mohawk like the time I jumped in that black swamp without daddies permission and was all black with a tan stripe and made daddies car smell like wet socks for months. "

"Here I'm a boxer with the sweetest smile you'll ever see. Melt your heart baby? I got this. Binders full of charm."
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501705427.jpg

Here I'm a sweet innocence puppy of 10 weeks again. Ooops I dropped the ball down the stairs and am too small and helpless to get it back. I'm so depressed without it. Please mister won't you bring me back my ball, just this one time? I double swear on my honor I would never drop in again on purpose. Oh no I would never do that"

"Daddies here and he wants his bed back"

Others? Not worried.

my new adoption is working out pretty well. zero accidents in the house...he actually went to the backdoor and whined once..let him out and he pissed buckets. i know "it's in there"; he is very smart. young and amped up..but he is learning fast.

i am however getting strange new and harsher bouts with asthma. i am hitting the inhaler more and more.

Something I swore I wouldn't do...Spend money to treat cancer in a 9 year-old mastiff. Well, so much for that. Removed bulk tumors this week. The poor guy.

Good luck to your pup!

Craig T 08-03-2017 08:01 AM

Thanks Joe Bob. I just want him to be comfortable. At some point, you have to draw the line on spending :(

Lost our mastiff to bone cancer shortly before her 6th birthday. Would have done anything (humane) to save her. Miss her every day.

Give him a hug from our family. Mastiff's are awesome. They see into your soul like no other breed.

I spent around 8 grand on my pound mutt, and would have spent more except it was the middle of the night and i couldn't get him to a vet fast enough. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501776473.jpg

Craig, Sammy,

I had a Springer that I did that with. Would do it again.

My Daisy had ACL surgery last year, she is 12 and thanks me every day by being the great girl that she is.

I'd do it again too in a heartbeat. I don't miss that money but I sure miss that dog.

Did that with my two Labs. Waste of money, they both passed within a month. Small dogs like my Dachshunds live longer. Still doesn't take away the pain. They were great mutts just not long lived.....Shorty lived to 22. Mean old bastard....but my good buddy.

best of luck to Tank & his clan..
if my Vet could have given my SAM a few more years of quality ..
I would have gladly handed him the keys to the P..
Haven't driven it much since we took that last ride..
I miss him so..
the P..it's strange ..
that ' smile & mine' seems to be gone..

For me the worst time is when I get home from work.
He was always there waiting for me and happy as hell that I finally got home.

I have spent a considerable sum on one of my two guys, both pound rescues. Probably the only thing I would sell the pcar for is if I needed it to fund the vet for her. She is my best friend, there is not much I wouldn't do to keep her around. As long as she is comfortable she will always be by my side.

Tobra 08-03-2017 12:50 PM

Mom had this one jump in her car one cold, rainy day in March about 15 years ago. I was into Bailey for well North of $10K in vet bills. Pictures don't really do her justice, pretty eyes. My vet tried to buy this dog from me for the entire time I had her.

Yep. Agree. Spock was a fantastic enigma and I still miss him. But what is so great is even after the pain of their death, all that remains is the wonderful remembrance of why we miss them.
