What a cutie! They do grow fast!

How's the chewing-related carnage been, Greg? ;)

gregpark 05-13-2024 01:45 PM

She's really settled down on the chewing thing. I can leave shoes on the floor and she no longer chews on humans. I even got her to stop nipping heels. I believe it's in their DNA to do that. A very eager to please dog and learns quickly. Good God, she has boundless energy. After a 2 mile walk she'll want to fetch the ball for an hour. We have the high pitched heeler bark under control too now. Ear piercing!

That bark is 'affectionately' referred to as a shriek! :D

Sounds like you two are doing just fine.

Carry on.......SmileWavy

I've had 12 dogs of all different breeds in my life and I believe this one is smarter than them all. She has totally latched onto me like my shadow. She's going to be a great companion

Buckle up. They are, we have had Heelers for 15 years, Dog Savants and do not miss a thing. Wonderful.

Dottie is about 20% Heeler, but I have never had the occasion to be around a more aware animal.

From today...Grazin' in the Grass:

Dog like that will keep the kids from leaving the yard Greg, automatically, somehow they know.

gregpark 05-13-2024 02:16 PM

Same! Sophie doesn't miss a thing. I can't hide a ball or a treat no matter how stealthy I am. She sees all.

billybek 05-13-2024 02:24 PM

Beautiful! Congrats!
The new boss have a name?

Yep, here she is herding my chickens back over the gate where they belong. She has free range in their yard but doesn't bother them a bit over there. She's always on patrol and when they cross the line they get harassed back over. She has a job, loves it and is good at it

Dogs playing poker. All-time classic kitsch. My grandparents had one hanging in the bar area of the recreation room where the pool table was.
