LinkedIn Question

I don't trust Internet sites. If I allow LinkedIn to examine the contents of my Outlook Contacts List, will it auto-send a bunch of emails to those people.

There are well over a thousand people in my Contacts List. I may want to contact them from LinkedIn, but I DO NOT want people to get stuff from LinkedIn just because I allowed them access to my Contacts List.

I would not recommend it. It's probably safe, but I wouldn't do it...

We got a notice at work that LinkedIn passwords had been compromised.
Did you get that word?
I don't remember the email totally because I don't use them.

No, linked in does not spam.

Test it, create a gmail account for yourself, import it and see what happens.

Some people who have simple passwords had their compromised, but they basically asked for it because they were using words you could find in a dictionary.
Who uses a simple word nowadays for a password?

Mine are usually something along these lines Hr4^G6#8(!O

Lots harder to figure out, but lots harder to remember too.

Word on the street these days is a string of words is harder to crack than even random numbers letters.

Something like "Iliveina4bedroomhouse"

or "ihavehad20Cats"

Also easier to remember.

But I'm not really qualified to give advice.
For the last decade my Pelican password was "911"

I think that LinkedIn is probably on the up and up, but I don't let anyone/thing access my contacts.
