She's a gem. No top so not much driving this winter but soon.
I sold my 29 truck so it's the only hot rod I have.

My latest project was a light restoration on my 64 Apollo GT 5000.

Buick 215?

Finish or not, just having the car back in your barn is priceless.

Body, interior and chassis designed and built in Turin Italy.

The Apollo GT 3500 had the aluminum Buick 215. This is a GT 5000 with the Buick 300 4.9L. Cast iron block with aluminum heads. Muncie 4 speed.
A yellow GT 5000 was the co star of the original movie "The Love Bug". The Thorndyke special

I realize everyone has different tastes, but THIS is what I think of when I think "Hot Rod". You can keep every overwrought piece of sculpture and crush all the Rat Rod projects. This is where it's at for me.

My mom says she raced some kids with this rod when she was pregnant with me.
She says she caught them by surprise when she left the line, tyres smoking. I guess that's where my car jones started.
When she was three, mom was also one of the original Gilmore girls. Hot rods and racing is in my blood. Henry "Sonny" Bennett (pictured below) was moms cousin. We were both names after my great grandfather, known more for his drinking than cars but everyone has to be good a something. :)
