Jim-I was raised with weapons and I have no idea what a "bullet button" is. Never heard it in the army either. What is it? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

There are some bad pieces of legislation in Wa too even at the county level. It is important to participate & speak our mind.

You folk in Ca. might have great weather but there is no way in hell I would ever consider moving there.
You have some of the dumbest laws on the planet |

We have a ban on semi-auto rifles that have two or more evil features! features are: A semiautomatic centerfire rifle capable of accepting detachable magazines and any of:
▪ a pistol grip protruding conspicuously below the weapon’s action ▪ a thumbhole stock or folding or telescopic stock; ▪ a flash suppressor, grenade launcher or flare launcher; ▪ a forward pistol grip. Yup! well to get around the detachable magazine it was proven in a court of law that if one needed a tool to release the magazine it was legal. Well the "Bullet Button" is a mag release that your finger wont work to release it but if you have a small pointy item you can use it as a tool to change your magazines. Please do not crap on us Native Californians for staying. My extended family lives here. My Family has been in Southern California since 1863. This is my home. I will try to fight the best that I can to protect my rights. Please help. |
ID10 and Jim, thanks for the answers. Never heard of such a thing before. Makes the whole rifle useless which I suppose is the objective anyway. No Jim, I won't knock California. Have some good friends there and no place is without it's faults. Living in Florida I understand getting knocked about because of where you live. I do reserve the right to really wonder about some of the laws though.
Good luck with your battle |
If the founding brothers knew where it was going to take us.........
|
Jim I am not knocking the people of Ca. I have some very good friends who live there. I am just saying there is no way I could ever live there.

Didn't Jefferson say "The Beauty of the 2nd Admendment is it won't be need until an attempt to take it away".

I also like the mag magnet lol.

The bill's author, State Senator Leland Yee, was born in China. So he probably doesn't feel all that much of a personal attachment to the 2nd Amendment.
|
Kali=lost cause. Can't think of a bigger waste of effort than to try and fight the gun grabbers there.

I don't own any "evil black guns" but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna fight for your right to own them. I found writing on Co. letterhead w/ my conservation group affiliations got me a 50% response rate from the politicians I contacted. I plan on writing in as well here. Like Jim, my family has been in So Cal for generations. Over the years its sad to see its demise. |
Being born & raised in California recalling how iconic it has been to much of the world in free spirited progressive developments it is sad to see where it is today. Though I do not live there now it is always close to my heart. All of my guns are black & beautiful. Never give up on our freedom it is one of the most important treasures we could have.

Like usual with guns, a biased article, and an idiot was used for interview and quotes.

It's been a long time since I actually tuned in to the proceedings but this morning happened to click the listen link and was honestly blown away by the incompetence that is Sacramento. Supporters Yee and Wilcox failed to communicate the bills intent nor clarify what the bill actually says, admitted they were not versed with guns/parts/function. Both Yee and Wilcox labored to generate a coherent thought over the 15 or minutes they were speaking. I was astounded to how poorly they presented their case.
Opponents of the bill (first 2 are given 2 minutes each and remainder can only identify) were prepared with example parts and well thought out arguments. All arguments against were concise, logical, and backed with supporting evidence. Senator Yee closed by saying that despite not having any gun crimes involving semi-auto centerfire rifles the loophole exists and without action "Men will die, Women will die, Children will die. Everyone will die" :o Passed 4-2. Off to appropriations  |
The CA Legistlature has been prone to rubber-stamping anti-2nd Amendment laws since its inception. This place is so backwards fing crazy.
