A friend used to take old refrigerators, sand off the paint, then finish with a jeweled look and clear coat. It was pretty stunning. I imagine you could use a belt sander for a brushed pattern.
That Thomas stuff looks like dull silver paint. I mean, it "looks" like dull silver paint. I've Googled images and can't find one in which the stuff looks anything like stainless steel. I seriously doubt it will "match" the SS range. Especially after the first scrape. |

results will widely vary depending on how well you apply it and consider that many refrigerators have a slight texture to the original finish that will probably hinder the final result.
In the end most appliances will look like they are painted with a brush which doesn't work for cars either unless you have poor eyesight. you might get good results if you have done a lot of painting projects like this but in the end it will never "look" like stainless steel. It will look like silver paint with a "grain" |

Can I paint my car with this? f***yourmother1960 3 months ago Reply ShareRemoveFlag for spamBlock UserUnblock User Yes you can as long as you use the appropriate primer - topcoat - and spray equipment - We've had people who have used the Liquid Stainless to paint the rear facia of their DeLorean - It's not a dead match for the DeLorean's specific Grade of stainless or its mill finish - but it was close enough to work for them tinmanhaas in reply to f***yourmother1960 (Show the comment) 2 months ago |
