I see what you're talking about. It looks like debris from the vehicle ahead.

I saw that, too. It's a great point. When I see super cars on the freeway and want to take a peek, I get a bit nervous as I'm guessing others are looking too.

Yikes! I thought the black car that popped out to the left was the one at the back of the line! Looks like the driver in of the crunched car survived, but was pretty banged up.

DALLAS, TX (KLTV) -
The North Texas Tollway Authority has released video showing a crash last week where a transit van barreled into stopped traffic on the Dallas North Tollway.

The multi-vehicle crash happened last Friday afternoon and left two people injured as a result of the crash.

According to WFAA-TV, Dallas Area Rapid Transit said the accident was a result "of the van operator failing to slow with traffic."

The driver is on paid administrative leave as police investigate the crash.

Rosa Sepulveda, a mother of one of the victims in the crash told WFAA she hopes with this video released, drivers will pay closer attention on the road. Her son broke his hip, arm, leg and 11 ribs. He remains in the intensive care unit at Parkland Hospital.

"I was upset and angry because [the DART driver] never tried to stop," the mother said. "He never paid attention, and I'm still asking why can he drive and not pay attention."

DART is also checking cameras inside the paratransit van to see if they provide other clues.

We had a similar incident some years ago (6? 7? 8? - I'm sure other locals remember) near Issaquah, WA on I-90. A lady driving and texting or jabbering or whatever rear ended a stationary van on an off ramp while doing about 60. Witnesses said they never saw brake lights. She killed most of a family, like half a dozen or more kids and one parent. I think one parent survived.

The dumb kunt on the phone? Already out of jail and back to her life. Someone needs to hunt her down...

Not the same crash, but it won't surprise me if it's the same cause.

Video from inside the van released on the local news tonight.

No texting, no phone, driver looking straight ahead right up to the point of impact.

No positive for drugs/alcohol.

I think he was in that nodding off zone.

You know when you are driving on a sunny day and get lulled into that zone where you are sleeping with your eyes open.

Interesting. Perhaps he just lost his sense of depth or didn't realize the traffic had stopped?

Look at it full screen... you can see his eyes close several times. He's in that zone, alright. Stayed up partying too long the previous night.
