Little Trip with Friends

A few folks from the Denver and Co. Springs 356 clubs went for a little drive this morning up Pikes Peak. A few of us other guys went along as well....
The weather was pretty good until the top where it was a little rainy, breezy, and nipply.........They had some snow yesterday.
Nice ride, really nice folks.
A few pic's

Darn. Wish you had done this on Sunday. It would have been fun to have Lotus and Porsche on the peak

I was gonna ask that too.

Great pics. Glad it is not all burned up. When is the race going to be?

Pete, when was that taken? I've never seen the parking lot below the weather station populated with anything but SUV's and Family Trucksters. We usually go in August.
Hell, our Mustang GT convertible stood out like a sore thumb

US.......If I get goose bumps in shorts, then I know it was nipply.........the ladies were a little better prepared, and headed for the summit house for coffee, I was to worried about the storms that come up in the afternoon to stick around. A few pictures and off I went. A little rain and a little grapple (cold rain, not quite hail).

Not much air up there for the trip, but all ran very well!

Second weekend in August I think, I'll verify and get back to you.

Kinda sucks, it's paved all the way to the top, I' liked it better as dirt. But,.....some folks got there way. Now instead of just running a grader and loader over it to smooth out winter's ravages, we get to repave.......Not more that two years old and we already have patches. Imagine that........freeze, thaw, heave,..etc...cut it out and repave during the three months that you have available.

Flieger, apologies for the delay, us retired guys have full calendars you know......:>)

The race qualifying is set to begin August 7 with the race on August 12. According to the media, 21 of the top 31 names expected, have adjusted schedules to be there. Should be fun!
