I yelled at it to stop rattling the damn windows and flickering the lights. Surprisingly, it worked.

As I don't believe in ghosts I would try and stay calm but screaming might help if you are scared and u need to relieve tension. Usually there is a scientific reason for a so called ghost. Perhaps a trip to a shrink might help.

In 1998, I spent a week on the Queen Mary. It's docked in Long Beach and serves a hotel.
I saw something twice. I don't know what it was, but it moves through into and out of rooms without opening the doors. Roughly human sized and sort of light gray with a vague shape like it was made of fog. The first time I saw it, I caught just a short glimpse as it passed from the hallway into a room (through the wall or a closed door - too far away to see which). I stared at the same spot waiting for it to reappear until my eyes felt dry. A couple of days later, I saw it again. It was in a hallway that was cordoned off with "do not enter" signs. I hopped the barrier and walked toward it. Half the brain shouting STOP and the other half shouting HURRY UP! It went into a room and this time, I was close enough to see it went through the door without opening it. I gathered courage and knocked on the door. No one answered. Probably a good thing. I'm pretty sure I would have requried a change of undergarments if anyone came to the door. I have no idea what it was. I've never seen anything like it before or since. And yes, I was sober. ![]() angela

When my daughter was around 3 my brother was over for a visit.
We were sitting in the yard having a beer. We were sitting opposite each other and my daughter came over and stood next to me. After a few minutes my brother turns around and looks over his shoulder. He does this a couple of times so I ask him what's up. He asks me what my daughter is staring at. She says "the people", I say "what people", "those people, standing right there". There were no people, at least none that I could see.

My first house was built in 1914. It was a rental prior to me buying. Two different tenants saw the top 1/2 of an older woman glide into a room, turn right, and glide across the room.
We never saw her. We did talk to her sometimes. Maybe she liked us? Larry |

I think there is "stuff" around us that we should be able to but can't see. I think in the past people like witch doctors, shamans etc... Were the people whose antennae were tuned better than the rest of the populace. Maybe we've drowned ourselves out, created to much noise with all the crap we are transmitting thru the air so we can't sense whatever it is anymore.
Cats, if you own cats you probably believe. I've had several who were just hanging out when all if a sudden they fixate on some point in space, start growling/hissing, the hair goes up and they bolt from the room and to me there is nothin there. |

As I lay in my tent the other night in the middle of nowhere after having been told of a bear warning and the thunderstorms started at two in the morning, the tent flaps then screaming helps(as in go away). Some fear makes me appreciate life more.Ghosts don't bother me and never will. I do get goosebumps, hair stands up on my arms from good music(Neil Young, Ian Tyson for example).

Eddie Murphy's voice would sound off in my head "GET OUT !!"
I would exit the premises ASAP.

Montpeliar Inn in Vermont....Owner told me there was a Ghost in the room at the top of the stairs..went up the Stairs looking and thought Room #1 would be a good place to start. As I was going into the room the Door Slammed on me...and heard what I thought were footsteps walking down the hall.
Went back the next day and checked if the door could close onits own or with my weight on the floor...Nope it was either going to be open or closed. Believe it or not...

I think I would have done the same as you except knock on the door. You can't expect a ghost to answer!!@! Either go in or turn around. I'm one that would enjoy a close encounter, but I've never seen or heard a thing that could be considered beyond tangible phenomena. |
