JP,
Glad to hear that your ok!!!! I didn't fair as well as you did, mine started off as a bowel obstruction on May 22nd 2011 was out June 18th 2011. Between those dates I had 25% of my intestines removed, went into septic shock, 13 days in a medically induced coma, even the priest came to read me my last rights. I'm glad I'm here, thanks to some great doctors, great hospital, (Long Beach Memorial) and great medical technology. The end result was I can't eat any fruits or vegetables without confining myself to the house for at least two days. The only thing I can eat, without any adverse affects are potatoes and protein (meats). Lets not forget the medical bill $435,000. About eight months after getting out we welcomed our first grandchild I say that's the reason I'm still here (that and our LORD didn't want me just yet). I can honestly tell you, I know what you are going through. GOD'S SPEED my friend! |
I am glad to hear the procedure went well.
Best of luck on your S.A.S. ($h1t air separator) valve check. |
Um, I'd be worried if you were full of piss and vinegar...it would've meant the doctors had worked on the wrong end!
Now, bring da noize! :D 911Gil, glad you're still with us. That sounds like quite a lousy adventure you had. Enjoy grandfather-hood. I'm told it's much less stress than fatherhood. ;) |
Thank you Bluesky, I will!

911Gil,
A few things come to mind. Glad you made it, my mom did not survive speptic shock... Good to hear you are at least able to eat somethings. Congrats on the grandchild, I hope I get there some day too!!! I pay way too much tax, but glad I am never looking at a hospital bill like that.... Cheers |
JP,
Glad to know you came out well! Good luck on passing a few smelly ones soon! |
God speed, my friend!!
|
Hey JP, maybe you should have the staff wheel you to the elevator- that seems to be the ideal environment for "gas passing"... I'm just sayin'

Life is short.
work hard. Play hard. It's not the destination, but the flowers you smell along the pathway of life. Here's to us all smelling many more flowers in the future. |
have you asked a nurse or doctor to 'pull your finger'?

There is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I'm home & vertical, the bad news is my S.A.S. valve failed miserably in a BIG way on it's second test flight:eek: I appreciate all the support but where were youz' guys when the feces hit the ventilator?..... Other than that all is going well and have nuthin' to complain about. The official body weight opon leaving the hospital was 136.9 lbs......about what I weighed in the 8th grade. Got some work to do there.
The sun has just burnt through the clouds so I'm gonna go set my skinny ass in the sun. Bustin' my hump gettin' back into shape can start tomorrow. |
Really really good news! :)
Irish blessing -- May you eat lots of food (fud), and may you have lots of world-record farts, and may your farts drive even *yourself* out of a room. Or may you sit outside a lot... _ |
JP,
Gud to hear you are home. Hopefully you will quickly be back to your old self. Hate to sound ignorant (but you already know that never stops me), but what is a S A S Valve? |
S A S
One of the S's has to stand for ****. |

This opperation is no small task to dig your way out from underneath. I'm doing about as well as can be expected but it really sucks. Maybe in another week or so I'll find life interesting again.
|
Wow, I'm lucky. Wishing you the best. About 8 years ago one of my triplet sisters had her bowel rupture. She spent six months in ICU.
