Trailering a car w a flat tire?
I'm preparing to tow a 62 bug from Iowa to Ohio on a flat bed trailer (wood bed). The tires are very old - 20 years or so - and not surprisingly one of them doesn't hold air anymore.
The rims are the original steel rims, restored w/ nice powder coated finish. Can I tow the car as-is or will I damage the rim? I'd rather put the new tires on once I get it home and start the restoration process, but don't want to do any damage in transit. Thoughts/inputs? Thanks in advance.

It'll be fine like it is. The flat tires might even prtect the edges of the wheels.

No problem. Tow away....
Pump it up to see if it will hold air while you load it.

I agree. You could also throw a can of fix-a-flat in the tire just before you roll it up on the trailer depending on where and what the leak is.
