As a hoax, that is somewhat mean-spirited.

I think that's a fair statement considering.

I would not want to be a part of that prank. Impersonating federal officers...the feds do not have a sense of humor. Maybe they had a "filming permit" so that all the jackets & badges, etc. were considered "props" but I would not want to have to explain to any federal official how it was all in "good fun."

If anyone ever did that to me, they would walk with a limp for the rest of their lives.

Not funny, I hate pranks.

Ha Ha! Actually, I have a great sense of humor. My point was only that there had to be some official dispensation (like a film permit) and Canepa is a smart guy, I'm sure he wouldn't expose himself to any issues like that without checking out the regs first & making it legit. A stunt like this in a very public place that is documented in photos & put on the web would not escape notice & questions would be asked. Plus, I'm not crazy about that prank either. Putting the car on the roll-away and leaving was a little over-the-top, in my opinion. Then again, I'm not aware of the relationship Meyers and Canepa have. Maybe Meyers got Canepa really good in the past. Who knows.

Thankfully it was a prank. As I was reading the story, I was thinking wow, they parked that thing in an impound lot.

Nice to be in the company of friends who can foot the several-thousand dollar tab for a fantastic prank like this.

Not funny at all. Only expensive. I am not a big prank guy to start with, but this one is especially lame. Pranks often can backfire too. What if the guy blows a gasket, either physically or emotionally? The target of the prank may end up with a health problem, or the "agents" may end up shot, as their prop guns wouldn't help them to defend themselves.

Just saying. Maybe I am not rich enough to get this prank.

Maybe we just don't know the target of this prank as well as Mr. Canepa does.

Canepa restored the car, and from what I hear they are (were?) good buddies. You have to admit it is funny, given the history of its former owners.

Given enough money, most high school freshmen could have noodled and executed the same thing and someone should have pointed that out about 15 minutes into the planning.

I like jokes as much as the next guy, and I like jokes that get played on me but something like this would end up getting someone shot, even over my lowly little SC. He is a much better man them me.
