I've seen 8 over the last couple of nights. Neat to be sure, but not worth staying up for.

I remember staying up for one of these 20 years ago. It was a disappointment meteor-wise as well, but not a bad party, laying on your back with a sixpack and your friends close by! Any time spent under the open sky is time well spent IMHO.

Had an ideal spot to watch the meteor shower. Was renting a house in the Ozark mountains on the Ouchita river. No moon, no clouds, no city lights for miles and miles. After dinner my 8 yo daughter and I layed out under the sky. When she first stepped outside and looked up at the beautiful sky she actually went to her knees and said "wow, that is so cool". We had a great time. There were a few that stretched across the sky and burned so bright it was breathtaking.

I was at Gingerman Raceway outside South Haven Mi. for a track day. A friend posted up on his FB page that he was going to go watch them. I grabbed a zero gravity chair and a jack and coke from my trailer. I watched the suns glow give way to a deep clear night and saw 3 shoot overhead by 10pm. Very bright, very beautiful. Then it was time to sleep. I was beat from a day of riding.

Saw a couple of nice ones minutes ago, bed time.

One more from last night. A car was leaving, as the shot was taken. Milky Way is the vertical strip on the right.

Looks like this year is not a real good showing, huh?

The uplit trees are a nice addition to the photo. Too bad there is too much light in the sky near them.

I'm back in the city. You tell me. :D It sounded like it was going to be pretty spectacular this year.

Had there not been so may people around I would have liked to have tried "painting" the trees. There was a mist as well as the high clouds rolling through, so any light was refracted/reflected by that, causing the brightness in the sky. The trees do add dimension.

We've seen quite a few. Last nights viewing was great. We were on at house looking east over Lake Washington, so we had a huge view, and it was dark.

I did see a number last night, but the news was reporting up to 100 per hour last night and that just did not happen. About half or more of the skipping meteors did leave very bright and long trails, so that was nice. There will be others. :)
