This is a good and a fair question. How do you answer this?

If you go the court route you will no doubt spend ridiculous $$$ doing so. The system is royally F'd up and it is going to be an uphill battle trying to argue your case to the system that they are F'd up.

Sadly, one can go through life totally in the right yet still be unhappy.

Naturally we here do not know all of the details and your situation sounds complex to say the least. So that being the situation, before you go to a lawyer, do you know any cops? Do you know anyone who knows cops? The reason I ask is because if so, it may be beneficial to inquire discreetly as to why you have what appears to be a target on your back. It may answer all/some/none of the questions. However it is far cheaper than having a lawyer hire go hire a detective to discreetly figure it out. Then from there with more information or perhaps no information the next step can be formulated.

Inner Office Profiling? That's a new one for me.....You get stopped in the hallway?

Have you tried going to the police station or courthouse and exercising your 2nd amendment rights?

It sounds like retribution to me & that the judge gave you the proof. I would think a good attorney could run with this. I'm really surprised they were dumb enough to send an email. I've had neighbors that were cops, WSP across the street & a deputy around the corner. A different neighbor filed a complaint about being bullied by the deputy & my good Christian straight as an arrow WSP neighbor was all over it asking around like he was the investigator, despicable. You are dealing with an impenetrable brotherhood of the highest order. If you got one in trouble you are marked whether you like it or not. These allegations are minor in their big picture, it's not like you can have any effect on them at all, seriously.

IMO, you have 2 choices, fight & be prepared for the consequences. Is a six figure settlement worth relocating? Second choice is to STFU or kill them with kindness & hope they don't plant a stolen gun the next time you get pulled over. Good luck, sounds like a tough spot to live.

Do not go to court. LEO word vs you=you must be the liar.

Contact your State Assembly guy, or whatever they have in NY. Make an appt to meet with them about your concerns.

Do not expect justice or fairness in your interactions with police. If you do, you will quite often be disappointed. Try not to get angry, no matter how infuriating it is.

Put one of those go pro video cameras in your car, more than one even, with audio.
