Get a kayak trip if you are into that kind of human power mode of transportation. Lots of fun. My wife and kids loved it, but this was in Monterey. Back home, she has never come out with me when I get my kayak out to the back bay.

Take a tour of the nuclear power plant. You can't get in the actual power plant but a cool tour. Disclaimer, I went there like 15 years ago. Don't know if they still offer tours.

They are shut down at the moment and the tour is not very interesting. My thermodynamics class was going to go there until we heard that.

Splash Cafe in Pismo. The Clam Chowder is the best I have ever had.
A little farther up the road from Morro Bay(not much) is Cambria. Just a one street town with a lot of original local "one off" made artsy stuff. Worth the short drive.
If you like hiking, SLO has Bishop"s Peak. A easy "walk up" with a great view of the whole area.

Just walking along the beach near Morro Rock is really nice. Enjoy.

Brown Butter Cookie Co. in Cayucos, also Duckies Chowder House. Cayucos is a neat little town.

Dorn's to eat, Sunday brunch menu is pretty good. Cambria has a couple of shops that have some old (mostly reproductions) auto memorabilia. Yesterday was their annual auto show and craft fair, I think its going on today too. Further up is Hearst Castle and then elepahnt seals along the beach north of the castle

If you do Bishops use the trailhead at the end of Highland Drive.
