Very sad to hear. May he rest in peace, and his family and friends find comfort and strength together.

Sorry about the loss of your friend Hugh. I am your age and have lost 2 friends just recently, right out of the blue. Every day is a gift. I miss them both dearly.

Went to a service last weekend for a friend who died in his sleep at 48 y.o. Worked out regularly, in good shape and his life was coming together after a rough divorce. He had been telling me just the week before how happy he was, son just graduated high school and he was in a great relationship.
You just never know. I turn 53 next week and usually get my annual physical around my birthday, but have been busy and putting it off. I'm going to schedule an appointment Monday. Sorry for your loss Hugh, sucks getting older and watching your friends and loved ones leave.

I, too, send condolences for your loss.
As an outsider I'm interested about the cardio tests, though. We've all done the nuclear stress tests, etc. & I'm now wondering their value. How is such an immediately dangerous situation missed? |

Thanks guys, I think the widow is getting an autopsy so she knows with respect to her two boys learning about heredity. I was was at his annual chili cook off last weekend and he seemed fine.

I am very sorry to hear about your close friend's sudden demise, Hugh. When somebody close goes so young it does stop your life in it's tracks for a while. The oldest son of a friend friend of mine passed away a few years ago. He was in his early 40's with two still young children. Brain Cancer! I knew him since he was 13. That was also a real shocker.
