Ice Cream Sandwich

Samsung just upgraded my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus to Android 4.0

The interface is almost the same. The only things I've really noticed is the update in the mail app uses an icon for update. Putting things on the home screen is slightly more complicated.

BUT, it runs so much faster! No more delay in changing apps or closing screens. Great update when the same hardware just runs better.

I upgraded my S II several weeks ago. Runs fine & the interface is good - although Airplane mode dropped down a screen but not biggies. I like.

I've had Jelly Bean for about a month and it makes my phone do everything faster than Ice Cream Sandwich....both are really good. Nexus S is what I have.

Why not get a nexus 7 for the same price.......comes with jelly bean and $25 in play store credit. I love mine. It's crazy fast with a great screen and I love the size.

I've had it on my Droid Razr for a few months and have no real complaints. Seems like the battery life is improved with the upgrade. Improved, not great.

I hate that my TMo MyTouch 4G Slide (HTC Doubleshot) won't be getting ICS unless I flash it myself. Every time I buy a phone with the promise that the OS will be upgraded in a few months, it gets dropped from the upgrade roadmap.

I agree. If I did not have a 7" tablet, I'd get the Nexus 7. Cheaper, better, faster. The Samsung 2.0 is not an upgrade. Lower res screen and less storage.

BTW, this is the WIFI version they upgraded.

i have been using an unofficial ROM release of ICS for the last month. its noticably faster and battery efficient for me but small things like the camera wouldnt work. looking forward to getting this official version.

Posting on my nexus 7 right now. I really love this thing. The battery life is excellent as well. I can consistently stream 6+ hrs via Netflix or hulu and still have battery left.

No problems on my end, been using ICS for about 3 weeks now. Its faster and has a better interface in some areas.

for battery life, suggest following apps:
"Long Battery Life" turns off wifi+packet radio when screen is off
"CPU Sleeper" for multicore systems, only keeps 1 core awake when screen is off

also if you're using a newer clockwork mod, try undervolting to perserve idling battery life

It is reported on a couple forums that it is rolling out now for the 10.1. You might try hooking up to Keis and see if that is faster than waiting for the OTA.
