I say squish it unless it's really big. If it's as big and ugly as it looks in the pic, I'd climb up on the chair with the GF

i kill them. every spider i have ever found in the tub, at my house, is a big hobo spider, which are poisonous. the others i leave alone.
Hobo spider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia despite what the wiki page says, i've seen the results of bites in the ER. yeah, anecdotal, but there you have it. YMMV.
