Don't what your time frame and product preference is, but the group i work for's drummer recently switched from DW h.ware to the new ludwig stuff( ludwig endorser). I might be able to hook you up w a DW rod. Would that even retrofit your pedal? If you're interested it would be mid sept before i could lay my hands on one. Shoot me a pm if interested.

As for my pedal, I soaked it for a week and exercised it a bit more tonight and it felt much more free than last week. It's still not 100% loose in one direction, but it's actually playable! I put it back on the set and proceeded to play some stuff and it works fine. There's no slowdown at all in its current state.

I don't think it's broken. It must have gotten some junk in the joint, be it rust or dirt or old grease. We'll see how long it holds up.
