It is an early 40s Chevrolet COE (cab over engine)
Some had the chrome trim on the vertical and/or horizontal hood grill slats.

It's a GMC by the looks of the grill and the belt line near the crown of the nose - I'm guessing '37. Below is a '42;

I agree...way cool. I pictured the red one with a 5th wheel trailer hookup. Hate to think of the fuel costs, tho.

My guess is that they didn't make crew cabs in the era? Lot's of work in that red truck. I'd love to have one.
