Shooting of US Embassy People in Mexico
I looked and did not see a previous post on this but may have missed it? Anyways, here is a link that now says that the two Americans were CIA anti drug people, etc, etc.
Americans wounded in Mexico 'were CIA employees' - Yahoo! News Some things I noted while watching the local Mexican news channel with my free over the air HD coverage was that the side windows stopped the bullets BUT they went through the rear window, very large holes there! A quick shot of the interior showed bullets had gone through the sheet metal in the side doors and there were holes in the front seats! Finally the cameraman, crafty that he was, got a real closeup of a couple of shell cases and they were NOT 5.56, looked like steel case 7.62x39 so they did not seem to be shot at by the US armed people with AR-15s? Seems the news has been very quiet on this for some reason..........hummmmm |

If it was Mexican Police, the shells should have been 7.62x51 NATO. They carry the FAL. And they would explain the penetration. 7.62x39 is not a good penetrating round.

This story does not fit the narrative the media wants to tell. See the complete omission of Fast & Furious stories as another example.

The news casts said they were Federal Police and a bunch had been detained and all sorts of protests were happening by the relatives. In the shell case closeup it was that weird color that Russian and other brands of steel cases are and it was the short case. You could see others on the pavement too and they were all in front of the SUV which I found strange? We get tons of that stuff at the range in Dulzura, especially when the guys show up with their brand new AK clones!

Interesting. But I don't think the military or police in Mexico uses the AK-47 or its variants. Why would 7.62x39 cases be around? That is really weird.

Very odd story. Me thinks the truth of the situation is probably a lot more interesting. But it will be years before the story is told.

here is a wiki which cover the equipment
Mexican Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I was wrong, it is the H&K G3, not the FAL. No where does it show that the Army uses 7.62x39 Maybe some of the local police carry the AK, but that seems dumb. And why would they use Steel Case russian ammo?

You're right about the weirdness James for sure. A couple days ago there was a very good computer animation run with the story right after it happened, which I though strange in itself, that showed the path of the embassy SUV, another car which was shooting and the SUV turned off the road and then came to another "T" intersection where it was blocked and crashed the front right side. The Federal Police then pulled up behind and started shooting right after the original shooter's SUV drove off.
That has since disappeared and the stopped embassy SUV is sitting on a narrow stretch of road with no intersections anywhere in sight! Strange story...... |

Unless it was a "hit", done by police to look like it was done by the Cartels.
