2 million Euro for a 911?

There's a 911 being offered for sale not far from me for in excess of 2 million Euro or about $2.5 million dollars.

Anyone ever hear of a 911 variant approaching this kind of money?

Can anyone guess what it is?

Nope. Not a 959. And no celebrity provenance.

Four cam 356 from AZ or CA?

Edit - noticed this is a 911. Must be a 901, perhaps personal car of Porsche family.

959s are not going for anywhere near that kind of money, FWIW. Off by a decimal point.

4-cam 356 prices would also be off by almost a decimal point.

It's not quite that much, but Steve McQueen's 911S sold for $1.35 million. That must be the record for a production street 911.

As far as all 911 variants, there have been some huge sales this year for 911 race cars. I remember seeing in Sports & Exotics mag in the last few months auction results for several of those, mid 70s Carrera RSR Turbos, etc. that were mid $2 million, and even over $3 million.

Nice ST, but not entirely original, so you have to wonder about the price.

Seinfeld's might. It's Seinfeld's and it's a 959S or whatever the hell the limited edition of the limited edition is. I bet Gate's would fetch a pretty penny as well. Allen's, not so much. Why? He's just rich, not so famous.

And 250K? Wayne paid more than that for one that had been repainted a non stock color. I don't know who keeps track of the selling prices if it's not Canepa and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any you can pick up for 250K.

Run of the mill 959s (if you can say that about a car of which there are 337 total) seem to be priced in the mid to high 6 figures.

Anyway, the point is that someone can ask any number they please as they have in the case of the SR.

Honestly, I'd rather buy a Singer, drive it like I stole it and use the rest on hookers and blow.
