Stainless steel receiver step

Is this custom or has anyone seen a hitch step like this for sale anywhere. I've seen similar on the Internet but this one was all stainless and well made, nice welds and very clean. No cut corners. Looked like it was done in a custom welding shop. All solid not the advertised "super bumper" that I found when I googled it.

Is that to function as a step up, or a battering ram? Seems like it would interfere with full access to the back hatch. My bet is that it augments the rear camera and sensors to protect the rear end, a bit selfish really. I saw some parking bumpers online marketed for use on in urban parallel parking situations where bumpers are prone to touch and feel damage.

It might be for being hit from the rear. My friends S-10 had a pintle hook on it and he was rear-ended and it pretty heavily damaged the lady's car and his rig wasn't harmed in the slightest.

Not a good idea for more than a tap AFA impacts go. It only transfers the damage to areas not engineered for it. As a step, it looks very slippery. I wouldn't go near it, seriously. I'd bang the crap out of my shin and have on similar.

I have no idea what that thing is for.

It looks like a real shin banger. I keep the hitch out of my receiver just to keep my shins blood free.
