Did Ray Kroc own a 911?

Hello all, I have an 82 911 SC I am restoring, and the guy I got it from, the 3rd owner, told me that it was bought by the owner of the San Deigo Padres. He told me that the second onwer brought this up from CA to the NW. After doing some checking on who the owner would have been, it would have been Ray Kroc if the story is true. Now for the million dollar question. How can you go about researching the title of a car for who the old owners are?

After getting done with everything I am doing, I will be selling this car, but the history dictates how far I will go with doing things.

Thank you all for any help.

Krok was born in 1908, had a stroke in 1977, and died of heart failure. Do the math.

Padres fan here....could have been that idiot Tom Werner, who infamously brought in Rosanne Barr to sing the National Anthem during the middle of a doubleheader.

What I found about Kroc, is he was born in 1902 and died in 1984. He was 81 when he past. I can't say the info I found is right, but that what I found. I am just trying to find out if anyone knew if he owned this car, and how to find out for sure who owned this car.

Thank you. I would like to know what the truth is about the car. The guy I got it from owned it from 35k to 196k. It would just be nice to find out if Ray did own this, or someone else in management. Thank you for the help.

Would be funny to see him in the McDonk. LOL

Stroke in 77 but died in 84. Did not say in Wiki how incapacitated he was. It did say that the stroke medicine required him to go to AA rehab so he clearly was able to bend and elbow after his stroke.

Fill out the pdf Danny O provided and send it in. You got a little time.

If one of the Padres owners owned it makes it a nice little selling point. Kroc would be way cool but don't expect to retire from the premium. Few $k extra maybe.

I just want to know if the story is true. I believe the guy I bought it from was told that, but could just be what the 2nd owner told him. Thge big thing is it will tell me how far I want to get into this.

Danny Ocean gave you the answer above you can do a title search or ownership history search through CA DMV. I did it for my '71 a few years back. I think it was a $5 fee and a two or three week wait to get the info- all names of prior owners and the years registered to them.

I wonder if the dmv would capture info if titled in different states. My 81 was a lease car and leased/owned by three doctors, first Dallas, then Atlanta, then Houston where I bought it - then Ohio when I moved there from Houston.

However, the DMV may only be as good as they need to be given the consumer can't really choose another vendor. There has to be a little cross-talk given law enforcement needs, though.

Don't know if it helps but for thought, didn't Ray Kroc's widow sell the Padres around 1990?
