I've been following that story on Jalopnik, the outpouring of support is amazing. 560 cars, wow. As a father it is hard to read with dry eyes, I can't imagine being in that situation.

Thanks for posting that! I don't have kids, and simply can't imagine the sorrow. I went to visit one of my favorite aunts yesterday who is in the final stages after a 20 something year battle with C in one form or another. That sux bad enough after a long, full, happy, life (and she was having a "good day" so it was a great joy to see her). For a child...it's simply heartwrenching to even thing about...wish I could attend.

Just goes to show how great "car people are". What a turnout, and this pic really brings a tear to my eye...

That's what makes the car hobby so great. If you can read that story with dry eyes, you're more of a man than I.

YOU guys cried? sheesh...what do you think it did to me? Tears down both cheeks, a smile on my face, and a prayer in my heart.

When I was in Texas, one of the OR nurses had a son with cancer, leukemia as I recall. A month or so before he died, they had a celebration of life deal, planted a tree, had a cake. Friend of mine, general surgeon, had a 911 convertible, one of the last air cooled ones. He taught that 14 year old kid how to drive a standard and they rode around the hospital.
Made me cry then, makes me cry now thinking about it.
