Bow-chicka-bow-wow. Love the porno music.
Looks like they must've hired away some of Hyundai's designers?

The lines of the front bumper/grill don't line up very well with hood, plus it seems to be different shade of white. I think it would look better in a different color.

The front grill reminds me of an Aston.

That's a good looking car. Too bad that they'll probably be in every rental car fleet and you'll see so many of them you'll be tired of it.

Twin turbo and 4WD - sounds pretty good to me. What's the HP and MPG? Direct injection?

Ford euro will have the 2.0L DuraTorq diesel (160 hp / 250 ft-lb) which is good for 20% better fuel economy than the 2.0L EcoBoost gas (240 hp / 250 ft-lb) which will be available here, and there.
Trouble is, the diesel is more expensive, 2 seconds slower to 60 mph, and that 20% gain in efficiency is offset by the 15-20% higher cost of diesel over gasoline in the U.S. Maybe they'll offer it here if demand for diesel rises. In the mean time, the U.S. 2013 Ford Fusion Energi (hybrid), 188 hp with more torque than the diesel, is EPA rated at 47 mpg city and 47 mpg freeway, eclipsing what the diesel would likely earn in both ratings. So why not the plug-in hybrid?

I rented a Ford Fusion this past Summer for almost two months and was very impressed. Much nicer than comparable GM products IMO.
However I should note diesel fuel is almost as cheap (and sometimes cheaper) than regular gasoline in the DC area. I filled up today at $3.95. Regular was $3.90. Premium was $4.10. A 20 % premium for diesel is not at all accurate- at least in my area- and I think we all know diesel is far cheaper to refine than gasoline. Last edited by cairns; 09-17-2012 at 04:44 PM.. |

![]() Nationally, and in almost every part of the country, Diesel is more than gas right now and has been all year. Twenty six cents per gallon, so it isn't even 10% more right now. The gap is historically less in Summer, and widens in Winter. The delta seems to hover about 25 cents more in warm months and 50 cents in cold months. Diesel is not cheaper to refine than gasoline. Especially now that it is the mandated Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel.
