GMO & irradiated foods are my least favorite food-like substances. I'm not really down with eating things like live monkey brain & have long ago stopped ordering over-fished species like swordfish which was a favorite since childhood.

Add one for brussel sprouts. I actually gag. I generally don't eat any yellow vegetables. That includes sweet potatoes, yellow inside.

I'm pretty adventurous.com but I'm not likely to try foods that look like animal parts like tongues, feet, eye balls, testicles, etc....

FRUIT CAKE - even though it's not an everyday food. Otherwise I'll eat almost anything, even brussel sprouts.

My favorite.

Except for a chunk of a spleen (I think) I got at a Chinese dim sum place. That rated high on the worst food ever.

I do like to cook organ meat myself. That way I can put the spleen in liver sausage, where it will blend in.

Hey, go easy on the brussel sprouts! That's one of my favorites. But I have to admit, unless cooked properly, they're awful.

I saute with olive oil and sliced garlic in my iron skillet. Or steam them and eat with butter and salt.

As for my least favorite food, cantaloupe. Ugh, that's a tough one. But there's a reason and brief story associated.

I grew up in a small town east Tenn. My Great-grandmother was all hunched over from hard living and osteoporosis. Lived well into her 90's but I never knew her to have teeth. She dipped snuff and always had a spit can nearby. She loved cantaloupe. Mom always made me kiss her cheek when we left. I can still smell the mix of the two.

Over the years I've tried many, many times to enjoy cantaloupe. No joy. It's a texture and smell thing. Even if it's in a bowl of mixed fruit, I'm out. Can't even pick out the stuff I like without getting a whiff. Ugh.

OMG, +infinity. The best description I can think of is spoiled brains floating in snot. My mom used to eat it all the time with a little horseradish on it. For me, there isn't enough horseradish in the world to make it palatable.

I dislike cantaloupe intensely, too, but I love honeydew. Go figure. (Mildly funny/cute story, my daughter thinks honeydew is pronounced honeydude, so she sometimes gets mixed up and asks for honeyguy.)

Also, chicken. Really. Except for when it's really, really heavily flavored by whatever it has been cooked in, I detest chicken. My wife made some today, it had been diced, smothered in shiitake and onions, and cooked for a good long while. That was tolerable.

Me, I love gefilte fish, either boiled or fried. And brussel sprouts are wonderful too.
I cannot abide red water melon, oranges, runny egg yolk, milk.As for animal internal organs, yuk,no thanks. Boiled chicken is vile for me too.

I'm not fond of fish, shellfish and shrimp are fine. The thought of eating raw fish makes me want to puke and poop at the same time. Maybe it's because I know what parasites live in fish flesh.

Another vote for B'sprouts. I gag on them too. Not many people I've met can tak 'em or leave 'em....you either love or hate them. I've tried them maybe five times in 68 years and still gag.

For all you brussels sprout haters:

They grow them on large tracts of land hear in Half Moon Bay. After it rains right after a harvest, the fields put out the worst smell you ever experienced. Try it some time.
