Anyone fly Allegiant?

Wife has family in Medford and Eugene, just found out Allegiant flys direct to those places from LAX.

Anyone here use them? Good, bad, indifferent?

Thanks in advance!

I fly with them every few weeks. They are OK. Planes are absolute junk! Cheap!

They fly out of here to FL House of Mouse and to Vegas. Cheap, no frills, borderline scary, not very reliable as far as flights getting off the ground ANYWHERE near scheduled departure. Would rate Europe's RyanAir as a great improvement....

I've had pretty good luck with their on-timeliness. Probably depends on the airport.

They have a pretty good rep out here. Have never flown them but friends have and like them.

I see they fly mostly MD-80's, that is a pretty good plane right?

And it is just to make a run to Oregon once or twice a year to visit family so it doesn't have to be too fancy.

Thanks guys!

On the ones that fly here the seats don't recline, and there is no foot room. They also nickle and dime the hell out of you like: bags, picking your seats, early boarding etc...

They do gouge you, but I've flown from Montana to California for as little as .99 each way, plus taxes. They do charge for carryon bags, but I'm not complaining.

I fly them every few months. If you are flexible on dates you can pick up screaming deals on seats. Prepare to be nickled and dimed... its annoying, but you will still come out ahead. Pack light.

The MD-80 is a advanced model of the DC-9, so yes has been around forever and is reliable as hell... Its a good airplane and they have a good safety record.

I've flown them four times, it seems to be a bit of a crapshoot. I think all four flights were significantly late, two planes were crap and two were actually pretty nice. They do nickel and dime you to death, but they were easily half the price of the major airlines.
