What's your least favorite food?
The beets thread got me to thinking. (I like beets, BTW)
But I can't stand oatmeal. Blech! And eggplant is too slimy.

I will just about eat anything that won't eat me. I am very adventuresome trying new foods. My only request is "don't tell me what it is until after I eat it".

I don't like them either. They always seem to look good enough to make me give them one more try, but after the first bite they haunt me from my plate.
Once I partook in a Korean pot-luck luncheon. One of the dishes made me wish I had a plate full of brussel sprouts instead. Whatever it was, was awful.

Jellyfish. Cold, crunchy and chewy. Couldn't get it down.

Octopus on sushi nigiri. Way too chewy and iron-y. Like white blood flavored rubber.
Sweet lady at our local swaps it out for another mackerel. Yum.

+1 on that. I used to love the way my MIL did liver, bacon and onions, Then one day I said to myself "Hey that's an organ" ewwww. haven't touched it since.

It isn't far removed from paint stripper is it?
I can't eat peas. I once told my mother that I wasn't sure which would be worse, a plate full of peas or a dirty diaper. I think the peas would be worse. Unless the kid had pea baby food.

I had these for the first time just last week. Not a new favorite, but I don't see what's so bad about them.
Growing up in Kentucky, we ate everything - chitterlings, kidneys, liver, gizzards, possums, squirrels, various feet and necks, all sorts of plants, etc. My grandmother used to crack us up, complaining she'd never eat fast food because "you don't know what's in there." "Yeah, Grams, but I'm guessing there's no roadkill or pig intestines in my Quarterpounder, and even if there is - meh, not like I haven't had them." I draw the line at insanely spicy stuff - imo, pain is not a flavor. Even so, I've got a high tolerance, so it's really just some Asian cuisines that bug me.

This triggers my gag reflex & I have had liver pâté in some wonderful restaurants with the same result. Ditto kidney. Etc. And I don't do sushi for the same reason, so I eat a lot of horrible teriyaki steak at sushi restaurants cause the world is crazed about sushi it would appear.
